hello hello friends and sis. i know, i know it's been awhile since i've updated this ol' blogaroo but it's like hard to keep up the blog and stuff. however, this past weekend was most def blog worthy. i trekked all the way back to the midwest to visit madison for homecoming. naturally it was amazing to run into everyone i've ever known since 1984 and visit old madison staples such as madison's, the city, stadium bar, tornado room and HATTERS!!! i mean, really where do i even begin?! i immediately booked it off the plane friday night and into e's arms with a big hug and then into her honda civic to get up to madtown while blasting dance beats. i anticipated meeting up with a couple of friends at madison's and then out with college friends. however, when i got there it wasn't just a couple of friends it was an entire table full of familiar faces including the new supreme court justice gableman, james, amy, kirsten, juston, darrin, cindy, etc. it was awkward for a brief moment as they suggested i give a speech before i realized what they were even there for (celebrating the swearing in of gableman). at that very moment I thought about practicing my maid of honor speech for e's wedding. i figured, e was there dressed in a purple mini skirt and leggings (practically wedding attire) and if anyone could give me advice about a speech it would be a supreme court justice, the political director of rpw - juston and the communications director - kirsten. i feel like they would've all had wise words of wisdom for moi and when was i really going to be in the same place with all three of them ever again? well, my first gin and tonic hadn't quite hit me yet and i decided to refrain from giving a speech to a girl in a shiny purple tube skirt with leggings in front of the supreme court justice. maybe next time, eh? saturday morning arrived before we knew it and i was already getting text messages/phone calls in the am to immediately start drinking. i barely get up on the weekends to function let alone drink alcohol at 9am. instead, i decided to spend my extra time looking badger fabulous for the stadium bar. i'm really glad i did this since (if you are eating breakfast, lunch or dinner stop now and come back to read the rest of this post on an empty stomach later) when i got there some overserved drunk chick decided to projectile vomit all over the back of my jacket (the funky black jacket i got with casey at h&m). you heard me right, someone blew chunks all over me. now at this moment i'm thinking, does this actually happen to people?! and do people actually drink THAT much they can't hold their alochol at 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon?! yes and yes are the answers to those questions. e and i immediately went to the bathroom and for a brief second bitches in the massive line were like no budding! um, we've got a puker in the bar and in case you want it all over your clothes too you're going to let me go clean this off (yeah, ny has toughened me up a bit). once i washed it off and drank enough to forget what actually happened i ran into about 293470234237 people i knew from hs/college/politics/friends of friends from politics/friends of friends from college/you know them, i saw them. that night the entire crew transported themselves in the exact same badger gear from the afternoon to the new hatters. a little background for those who don't know about madhatters - it was my favorite bar in college before it got taken down for the stupid student center for students. it was literally one of those bars where everyone knew your name. well, this past weekend was no different except the bar has re-opened in a new location with not one but two floors and a heck of a lot cleaner bathrooms. as soon as we got there we were about to call everyone to meet up but naturally they were already there with miller lite's in hand and ready to dance the night away. well, the weekend ended with a lovely brunch with the old bosses and some shopping on state street. i've finally sobered enough to write about it. usually i wouldn't write about so much drinking and partying but frankly it was just one of those weekends. next time i'll write about going to church and volunteering with little kids. :) i've kept you kiddies (maybe) by the end of this post so if you've made it congrats and peace out!
An nyoung ha seh yo (hello) e'erbody. i'm glad to announce i'm in much higher spirits since my last post. since we last wrote/read i have found a new roomie, she's moved in and hopefully not getting pregnant or leaving to go live with another french student (fingers crossed!). we also know some mutual peeps from the dc area so that's promising as well, right?. soo, enough about the boring stuff. first of all, congrats to all you hard working republicans on the national convention. i was seriously sad i wasn't missing out on nyc life to party and not sleep with everyone in the hometown. while you were watching mccain give his closing speech and sipping on free drinks i was eating at a french restaurant in the west village for a friend's bday, drinking at the chelsea pier and then hitting up koreatown. let me tell you, 32nd and broadway is where it's at. obvi i'm an amazing singer so we ended up going to this karaoke bar. this ain't no karaoke kid but you do get your own private room, korean beer, fresh fruit and popcorn included. this also includes two microphones for harmonizing duets and a plasma to pick your musical selections and show the words of all those classic songs you never actually knew the real words to. after being overserved i belted out some journey, boyz II men and various other classics. i then worked up an appetite for some korean bbq. it was just me and three asian boys. they all spoke korean or chinese and have obviously had korean bbq more than a few times. i almost felt like a minority (yes, i am korean) within the korean restaurant only knowing english and figuring out what all of the food selections were on the table. it was seriously delicious. i mean, i say that about all food but it really was amazing bbq. you actually cooked your own meat on this burner thingie and dipped it in all of these kewl sauces. i know, you're hungry now too, aren't you? well, the fun was soon over and i had to be at work 5 hours later. my voice was cracking all day as i'm not used to really singing late night which i'm sure really impressed all of the CIOs i was calling all day. they probably think a pubescent teen is trying to sell them Oracle products which is why i immediately requested chammomile tea so it never happens again. :) welp kids, the weekends of visitors begins in t-3 days. i cannot wait to see many of my college, hs and wisco cohorts. not sure if i already mentionted this but i'll also be back in wisco for homecoming in october so git ur party hats and let's go to the stadium bar like now! off to go eat some ice cream...peace out!
so i guess in life not everything always goes as you wish...i must say this is not a city for lazy people. you work a little bit harder, party a little bit harder and frankly just live a little bit harder. before i begin a short gripe session i must say thank you to ms. casey for having me at her place in dc and seeing all of my lovely friends, adam, katie, isabel, matt and all of my favorite wisco political peeps even if just for a second. it was amazing to see familiar faces and catch up on life with everyone. i partied, i laughed, ate pizza and wings (yum!) and slept! i then got on a bus back to nyc which is where the mayhem begins... i should've known when i woke up form a 2 hour nap to get off at a rest stop in jersey. i guess i was a little out of it and proceeded to exit the bus when i tripped and fell in my little golden flats and skinny jeans. naturally i was at the front of the bus right behind the bus driver (Cesar) and in front of 40+ peeps who proceeded to freak out that i fell over but i was toadily fine. no worries kids, just had to dust off a little dirt off those skinny jeans and the palms of my hands, wah. i then continued to sit on a bus for a total of 7 hours!!! we were so close just siting by the lincoln tunnel waiting in stop and go traffic for hours. long story short i finally made it home and before ya know it i was up at 5:30am getting ready for work. i got home from a rough day of work to find a note from the newest roomie (whom i've seen twice by the way since she moved in) that she's preggers! oh and she's moving out in 2 1/2 weeks!!! she hadn't been feeling well the past couple of weeks and go figure it was because she's a baby's momma. i must say i cannot even begin to imagine being 24 years old, waitressing and having a baby with a guy i had been dating for less than 6 mos. so, i guess to put things into perspective life could definitely be much more challenging than mine. however, here i begin the search for another roomie yet again...i've gotten so good at this i just reposted and changed the date of the previous post i had on craig's list. i do wonder if i should add a disclaimer at the bottom of the post: authorized and paid for by damire and mary for the second and final time in a month - no french students, pregnant chicks or male specimens allowed to inquire about this apt. okay, maybe it's a bit much but you can't blame me for trying. i need to go post something on roommates.com but i promise no debbie downers next time. i'm really not a debbie downer kind of gal but every debbie (or mary theresa) has a bad day every once in awhile. thanks for listening, peace out!
oh man, what a weekend! first, a big shout out to my sis e on the big engagement. my sissy is getting hitched and guess who gets to be the maid of honor?! MOI! i know the day is really all about her but I had two requests. one, absolutely fab bridesmaids' dresses AND a kick ass wedding party. so, i know it's only been a couple of days but we're thinking a very classic with a modern twist look for the dresses. pale pink classic cocktail dresses with pearls, cocktail rings and fabulous peep toe pumps with a bow or maybe nude pumps to finish off the look. the wedding party could not be more "kick ass". i'm pretty sure that's how they all describe themselves. since we also have a lot of the same friends megs, katie and bri could not be any kewler. actually, two of them were in new york this past weekend and i made e tell them immediately that they were included before i had a couple of cocktails and spilled the beans. so, in case all of you were missing me in the midwest i will be making many more trips to minnesotah in the upcoming year to help plan for the big day. i will also be taking date suggestions. i will be looking for someone preferably tall, dark and handsome with a great job, catholic, conversative and loves his mom. if you live in the new york city area that would be great but would like to move to the midwest in the next 5-10 years that would be even better. oh and all coasties are welcome but i ain't staying out here forever so you're really going to have to start liking the midwest too. lake minnetonka or the terrace aren't quite like the hamptons but they're definitely close...btw, i've never actually been to the hamptons but i'm assuming the terrace is pretty much the same thing. one last reminder, people will ask when we're getting married so just smile, nod and walk away. you really just need to sit there and be eye candy for the hegi/larson clan. to be considered for this honorable position please post your height/weight, annual salary, voting record, and a picture with your mom in the comments section below. thank you and peace out.
yay! today phil turns...well, you'll just have to ask him. happy birfday!!! miss you!
hello friends and happy monday to all of you. the weather here in nyc is surprisingly cool and fall is right around the corner. i do love a hot, new york night but nothing is really more exciting than argyle sweaters, sweater vests and cute trench coats for fall. other than the weather, i have a big announcement to make. i went to bed past 9pm on friday. that's right i didn't even do dinner until 10pm and stayed out until...1am! i again met up with ms. egan and we did dinner at a cute mexican restaurant in gramercy park. she had just finished up a 13 hour day at work so she went home to rest and i went to meet up with my friend matt and his buddies at the royale. the place was less than hopping but it was a nice, relaxed atmosphere for a bunch of kids that worked way too hard during the week and needed to sit down a for a few drinks. it was his buddy ryan's birthday, the big 25. my fondest memory of ryan was early last november when i went to new york to visit incidentally katie and matt and we were all out on the town. we were about to hop in a cab to go to our next drinking establishment when i was told to get out and get into the limo, i repeat limo behind us. ryan kindly flipped the bill for 10 of us to ride from gramercy park to soho in a limo. the only other time i might've ridden in a limo was prom but even that i'm not so sure. the bartender (his friend) really topped off the bday celebration with an old bran muffin with a single lit candle surrounded by random peanut m&ms on a styrofoam plate. it looked, well not very appetizing but i love peanut m&ms so I stole a couple, hehe. the night ended shortly after i took a soco and lime shot and realized i had spent $60 in less than a few hours. saturday and sunday were probably the two most productive weekend days i've had since i arrived. i bought a coffee maker (not sure how i lived before this purchase), went furniture shopping, cleaned my entire apartment and even did four loads of laundry. sadly, that's the stuff that really makes me excited about life - freshly washed and ironed button downs to go with a pair of perfectly pressed pants. that and the new all natural air freshener we got for the living room, seriously smells delicious. welp, time to go eat that frozen pizza. 3 pizzas for $9.99 = 6 meals for $1.67 each. that's right kids, i'm really learning to budget that money so i can buy less practical things like all natural air fresheners and overly priced clothing. peace out!
hello fellow peeps. i've had a few complaints about not staying up to par with this blog. i do apologize but this bitch is busy! anywho, where do i even begin?! well, first i'll start with the roomie update. i interviewed quite a few ladies and honestly none of them were really that exciting. we had arpita, some chick i didn't know her name, amanda, natalia and katie. the first was kinda boring but i would've taken her, the second was a big fat NO, amanda is an aspiring actress/model and natalia is from russia and works for a hedgefund. the last two were fine but didn't really click with them at all. however, katie was awesome! she works for rebecca taylor and a new restaurant in tribeca. she's a hard worker and a partier, the only two things that matter i guess... this was obviously a huge accomplishment since rent is due in two days, nothing like waiting until the very last moment. with all of this hard work of course i had to go out too! i must say i haven't been drinking at all the past few weeks so my tolerance is nothing short of pathetic. i'm just gonna say it, i'm a wuss. wow, i feel so much better now (pat on back). my first night out included a lovely thai dinner with ms. katie egan at republic in union square. i then sauntered over to the gramercy park hotel to meet up with my friend cat where we then ventured off to Still. It was kind of collegey/young professionaley but with good beats and decently priced drinks. we were just chatting it up until these random puerto rican softball players came and talked to us. i know, it seems strange but i also met australian softball players my last night in madison. either way, i pathetically attempted to speak spanish and got some free drinks. debbie from brooklyn (new york accent inserted here) also invited us to the softball game the next night but we conveniently had to "work" and missed out. then, on saturday i again hung out with cat on the upper east side for some wine and cheese. we finally headed out to madriver (also the official badger bar, yay!) around 1:30am and partied away until 4. even though this was on the upper east side it reminded me a lot of wisco. our feet were sticking to the floor and they were blaring good dance beats amidst highly intoxicated youngens. on sunday i could barely get out of bed. i think the most i accomplished all day was opening up my computer to order food on delivery.com (amazing website btw), walking to the door to pick it up and eating the deliciousness of happy palace's crab rangoon and moo shu chicken. by the way i just took a 20 minute break to eat the cheese fries i ordered with a fruit smoothy to make myself feel "heatlhy". they were both super tasty, thanks for asking. well, nothing else too exciting to report friends and you're probably bored out of your minds by now after reading all of the things i've eaten/drank this week. peace out until next time! i promise and even pinky swear not to wait so long until the next post.
Why hello der. Again, I am still alive even after today's "team building" paint ball excursion. I must say I really had no idea what to expect. I got expert advice from the pa and the old boss but I feel like nothing could have really prepared me for this adventure. After eating a chicken salad from Burger King I was all hyped up to get this paint gun show on the road. Of course Enterprise was all out of SUVs so five of us crammed into a Kia Rondo (yay Korean cars!). I was sitting in between two six feet plus guys with very little room all the way to Staten Island (the other five peeps rode in the boss' Mercedes Benz). When we got there it was actually kind of kewl because we had the entire place all to ourselves. Once we got all of the gear on I was having a serious "bad ass moment". I had the protector vest, face mask, belt thingy with extra ammo, paint ball gun in hand and of course my pink and red sneaks. This lasted all of about three seconds until one of our IT guys who is seven feet tall and full of tats appeared with a camo tank and his very own paint gun. The newbies were team captains so I carefully picked all of the athletic peeps to be on my team which clearly was a mistake. A lesson for all of you just because you are in shape does not mean you are good at paint ball. The other team had the "bad ass" guy, a former military guy and a couple of real sharp shooters. Word on the street and Yahoo answers says that paint ball can hurt. Um, this is an understatement. This picture does not show the gigantic bruise that surrounds it. I have three enormous welts on my legs and one on my arm. We lost almost every game which means we do the other team's laundry and buy everyone drinks (good thing the managing partner was on my team) and no skirts for me for at least a week. Despite all of those things I'm going to have to say I had a great time. It truly was a "team building" experience and I ain't too bad of a shooter myself. :) Yay for it almost being Friday!!! Peace out!
Of course it wouldn't be a move to New York if everything went exactly as planned. The job has gone well and the move was pretty much seamless. Lots of work but nonetheless went off without a hitch. Today was a rather long day at work which forced me to skip out on the symphony at Central Park but good thing because my now former French roomie left a note that she would no longer be living at our place effective end of July. Apparently she had no problem packing up her stuff and decided to leave to move somewhere else with a French friend. My other roomie and I thought this was all pretty rude and especially since she saw absolutely nothing wrong with this. We freaked out for about 5 minutes and then decided to post it up on Craig's list for another search for a new roommate. Of course I embellished and made our place sound like a palace in the East Village. I literally described it as, "ROOM IN BEAUTIFUL EAST VILLAGE APT. AVAIL. IMMEDIATELY". I should have gone into marketing or something. With my writing expertise we posted this at 7:56 and already had someone look at the place at 9:30pm tonight. She also just arrived from Paris so we passed on her. However, we have had quite the array of people that have emailed me. Let me just go thru the list of people we've had thus far. Let me also remind you it's only been 3 hours...the Paris girl aka Nesrine (no more!), Gulfen - a woman with a scholarship from the Turkish government who is meeting up with her husband in the US (um, no thanks!), Uri - a 30 year old recent male Harvard grad (way too smart and stuff), Antonello - an Italian architect and his engineer friend to share the room and want to improve their English skills (ugh, definitely not), Tracy - 30 year old female professional that just moved to the city from Chicago (meh) and alas Odette - 24 year old female working for Marc Jacobs/Bloomingdales and a recent city girl all the way from San Diego (me likey Marc Jacobs). Well, you can probably guess we're interviewing the last one on Monday. I have an "open house" from 2-4 on Sunday just in case. Nonetheless, a very productive evening my friends. I'll keep you posted on the future roomie! Peace out!
Greetings again friends. I've been really slacking this week with the posts but believe you me it's been a rather intense and busy week. My new job is almost exactly like my good ol' Gateway days...(sarcasm inserted here). I just went through a 5 day crash course in computer lingo and training on how to sell computer stuff and services. It was like college all over again studying until the wee hours, getting quizzed on what you learned and even giving presentations already. I also started on the phones trying to get people to buy stuff from me. We have to keep track of every move we make so they can run weekly reports on us to track our progress. There is no time to slack off, no random coffee meetings, no personal phone calls and definitely no 2 hour lunches. However, the people are pretty kewl and everyone seems to really know their stuff. As i suspected a very work hard, play hard environment. Naturally, Friday could not come soon enough. I had a tasty meal with my friend Matt and then planned to go out with Cat on the Upper East Side. I was pretty much delirious from the lack of sleep during the week but decided I'd woman up and go out anyway. It took me nearly 45 minutes to get up there via subway and when I got off I decided to look into my purse for my id...and it wasn't there! This is the second time I've done that this year!!! The last time I was on my way down to Milwaukee with Casey to visit her "cousins" and realized I didn't have it half way down there at Johnson Creek in the middle of a snow storm. We had to turn around and then drive back...3 hours later I was just delighted Casey still considered me her friend and didn't leave me by my lonesome somewhere on 94. This time around I was too tired to go back out so I just went to bed instead. This was a good thing since I went to Long Beach in Long Island all day on Saturday. It was great, you take a train at Penn Station to Long Island, about a 45 minute trip for only $14.00 (round trip). Immediately when i got off the train, my friend and I proceeded to get a whopper jr. meal at Burger King and upgraded to a chocolate shake, the perfect bikini diet. Long Beach was packed with peeps. We didn't realize we had to pay to get on the beach and we barely made it. I had to pay $10 in all crumpled up dollar bills. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and some of the peeps my friend knew there also came well stocked with beer of course. Half of them were Badger alums and still know how to clearly party. Between BK, shotgunning beers and laying out in the amazing weather I felt pretty awesome. We all stayed out until the 7 o'clock train came so naturally we got more food to go and one of the guy's sandals broke so he walked up and down the street looking for a place to buy replacements. The only thing he could find were kid's flip flops for $4 so his feet were hanging off the end of the them...and he decided we needed an 18 pack of beer just for the train ride back. Needless to say he looked rather ridiculous. So, my friends a great first weekend in the city. This week at work we're doing a "team building" activity and paint balling in Staten Island. Let me also remind you the VP of sales is flying in from San Fran and there are only 2 girls and about 10 guys that work in the office. If you have any advice on how I don't get my arse kicked please let me know. Peace out!
Hello! I've finally arrived in that place called New York City. E! and I arrived Wednesday afternoon exhausted and anxious to explore. I am living in the East Village with all of the young, trendy hipsters within blocks of a park, police dept., NYU campus and tons of restaurants and kewl vintage shops. Next time you see me I'll be all trendy and telling everyone to go green. Well, that might be the case if i wasn't working in the financial district. I walked down to the office (took me almost an hour) through Soho of course and thought it was pretty kewl when I got to Wall Street and saw the NY Stock Exchange. Then, E and I realized my office was just one block down in a huge building. I'm up on the 21st floor so I guess we have a pretty good view of the city and of course all of those cute businessmen running around in suits. Other than that I've been running around everywhere getting stuff for the new pad and exploring all of the cute neighborhoods. We went to Soho (obvi) where the shopping was out of this world, Union Square, NYU Campus, Murray Hill and of course Korea Town. In between our meanderings around town I have met some pretty amazing people. I have French and Puerto Rican roommates. One of them arrives on Monday from Paris but her friend Florence stayed here a couple of nights and was super nice and amazingly stylish. I'm assuming she will be the same as she starts at Parson's in the fall. The other roomie, Dami I finally met today. She just graduated from Parson's in fashion design and is currently looking for a job. She gave me the big scoop on Project Runway since they've filmed at Parson's pretty much every year she's been there. Heidi Klum is a diva, Sarah Jessica Parker and Debra Messing were super nice, and all of the students can't stand any of the contestants on the show. All of the assignments are the actual curriculum Parson students have that semester and the drama is all real. She said you haven't seen anything until you've actually gone to Parson's, it's 10X worse than the show. Oh and she's a shawty just like me and a total neat freak so we'll get along quite well. Whew, this is a long post, so much to write. I'll leave you with a few of my favorite and worst moments. Worst - already stepped in dog poop while E laughed at me, wah and excited to see the fireworks at dinner only to have a huge tree block our sight of anything...I could hear them though. Best - Exploring and giggling with E, new apartment, meeting new peeps and my picture in front of a massive billboard of my future bf - david beckham. I'll write ya with the dets on the new job this week. Peace out!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Wow, all of those cap letters were probably not necessary but I really meant each and every thank and you. I toadily knew how great my friends were but they went above and beyond these past couple of weeks. The going away party was totally fab despite the many, many events going on. I couldn't have put a more random group of peeps on a pier even if I had tried. However, I highly enjoyed the outdoor setting until the mosquitoes came out in full force and within minutes I had welts all over my body. The cards and generous gift were way too much. I seriously LOVED them all and seeing everyone one last time before my departure. It was a sad, sad evening ending my Madison era at Madison's (only seemed appropriate) with a couple of my favorite gal pals on Thursday but with the help of this nifty blog, email, gchat, text messaging, etc. I have no doubts I'll keep in touch with my dearest friends. I will miss MN too hence the endless amounts of food I ate with the fam over the weekend. Seriously, I went to Bob's produce with my mom to buy green peppers and we walked out with two rotisserie chickens, two pies, new york vanilla (we did dat on purpose) and oh yeah those green peppers. Everyone wonders where I get my eating habits and love for the kitchen from, you can definitely thank my mom for both of those. Well friends, we laughed, cried, worked, ate and drank a lot together but I'm not saying goodbye. This is merely just a check ya later moment as we'll be keeping in touch via blog, email, gchat, text, fb, myspace, etc. Probably no posts until after I get settled unless you really want to read about the trials and tribulations of cramming a ton of clothes, shoes and toiletries into a few suitcases or me whining about missing my parents. Yeah, I didn't think so either. It will be far more entertaining to read about my new random roomies or getting lost on the subway with E. Check ya later in NYC! Love you, miss you already. Peace out friends.
I feel like a real blogger today guys and gals. I'm just living the dream doing my laundry at Laundry 101 and blogging away right now while my clothes are getting all clean. I've been delaying this whole laundry situation for quite a few days. It was either do my laundry today or go out and buy new clothes. Since it was my last weekend in Madison, hence the post title I decided to really live it up (and delay doing my laundry). I stated, "it's my last weekend" so many times friday - sunday that I think my friends are more relieved than sad it's my last weekend. The most monumental thing I did over this last weekend of mine was go to the Brewer's game thanks to Casey and Kirsten for organizing/driving to the festivities. In true Wisconsin fashion the three of us gals went to the grocery store and bought all of the cheddarwursts, bbq chips and alcohol one could possibly enjoy. Unfortunately the traffic was a pain but thanks to my expertise DJing skills the ride wasn't so bad (except for Juston who was about to jump out of the car if he heard another rap song provided by moi :)). Eventually we arrived to tailgating heaven full of beer guzzling, brat eating, and blue and white plastered fans in the midst of the parking lot of Miller Park. I must say this is one experience you definitely cannot enjoy or appreciate in any other place except for the Midwest and especially WI. I ended up consuming 2 cheddarwursts, a plethora of bbq chips, Miller Chill, a strawberry daquiri and the most amazing food eva. cheddar fries. These are essentially waffles fries drenched in nacho cheese served up in your very own mini Brewer's helmet. I mean seriously how good do those look?! Exactly. No one thought I was watching the game since the last one I went to I disappeared for 2 hours to eat apps. at TGIFridays. However, I really impressed everyone, especially myself knowing we had claimed victory 3-2 against the Baltimore Orioles. All in all a glorious day my friends. However, the amount of cheese and alcohol I consumed should really be illegal...And to leave you with something extra special from the Brewer's game this should also be illegal. Peace out friends!
me with a spotted cow at the terrace ---------------->This weekend was pretty much da (also means the) bomb. I'm starting to get a little sentimental about the whole leaving Wisco thing so I indulged in all of my favorite things with some of my favorite people over the weekend. Any time I am drinking brandy old fashioned sweets and spotted cow while eating cheese curds and buffalo wings life is pretty much amazing. Originally I was planning on writing about my great memories at the terrace but the weather was seriously pissing me off on Saturday afternoon. It started to rain, stopped and then continued to rain forcing me and my friends to leave. However, I truly believe everything happens for a reason and as you are about to read Saturday afternoon was no different. My buddy Matt and I decided to go meet up with our friend Jon who was working at the Mariner's Inn. Naturally I was hungry post spotted cow consumption and pre sushi consumption. I wanted some apps! Mariner's Inn is a fancy supper club for old, rich Republicans or in this case young, hungry Republicans. Jon recommended the stuffed mushrooms or some other fancy delight but Matt and I insisted on the mozzarella sticks and buffalo wings. I bold and italicize the buffalo wings because they were absolutely delicious. They were the perfectly deep fried/buffalo flavored chicken pieces of greatness. I've been literally obsessed over the Glass Nickel chicken wings but I'm not gonna lie, these had even better flavor and crispiness. The only thing that would make them taste even better is delivery right to my front door. I would've put a picture up of me eating the buffalo wings but it's not nearly as glamorous as me drinking a beer at the terrace and honestly I didn't want to embarrass myself or any of you by doing that. Well kids, overall a fab weekend. All of this food talk is making me hungry and on that note this girl needs to eat some grub. Peace out until next time!
Wow everybody, we're just a few days in and we have got some very interesting feedback on this new blog. See below: Feel free to comment as necessary in the comment field but let's keep everything clean here people. This is the internets and my grand kids could be reading this one day.

Peace out until next time kids. Amen for the weekend!
So, apparently this whole moving thing is a lot of work. My gmail box is full of responses to Craig's list posts for pretty much everything in my apartment, including my apartment and details for a new apartment in NYC. So far, I've sold one thing - my gigantic, plush queen size bed to the highest bidder - Mr. Juston Johnson. Despite all of my clever marketing tactics on craig's list the deal went down like this. Yesterday around 2:00pm CST in the dark alley behind Gateway Ventures I randomly saw Juston and mentioned I needed to sell my queen size bed. I offered up my generous deal and he said he'd take it without any further questions. Essentially, I wasted about half of my work day responding to emails mentioning the exact firmness of my mattress, the brand, sending out the above picture (awful picture, sorry Juston) and sold it to Juston in about .2 seconds. Um, best business deal eva! You're probably like, why did you just mention Juston's name 4 times (now 5)? I said I'd do a shout out to him and I am so excited I actually sold one of my precious belongings that I really wanted to go all out. Look forward to the upcoming post where I talk about sharing a twin size bed with E (aka. the twin sis) my first new nights in NYC. Peace out until tomorrow. :)
Hello family, friends and lovas. I am moving to New York City aka the Big Apple in a mere 3 weeks. This will be a friendly place to discuss my adventures and new life on the East Coast. Things are never easy moving out to a completely new city with new people and a new job but I am up for the challenge. I am going to miss the midwest, especially WI and MN dearly. However, be prepared to be highly entertained by my new experiences in the coming months. All of us can only imagine the shenanigans I will be getting myself into. I've already been told my new job is a very "work hard, play hard" atmosphere, so i will clearly fit right in. I was once told that Koreans are the Irishmen of Asia. I think my dad actually told me that...not sure what he was trying to get at. Welp, this blog has officially been born 6.11.08 at 10:20am CST. Sit back, enjoy and come back often. Love you all! :)
